opened 1996
Newly opened bar - in April 2026 (after the premises were unoccupied for some time). Previously a a wine bar. The premises are in a small lane close to the splendid St Mary le Tower (14th century church). Nicely decorated with exposed beams. Music appears to be a focus of the current operation - please see the website for further details.
On the evidence of the ancient-looking and very hefty sign-hanger on the corner, this must have been a pub in the distant past as well, but we have no details. Perhaps it was related to this unidentified pub?
Church's closed late in 2016. In 2021, it was noticed that it was on the market. In 2023 the building was renovated and by January 2024 it was being marketed as suitable for a restaurant or bar.
