It's shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century as an un-named beerhouse. interactive map
According to A Survey of Suffolk Parish History, the pub was destroyed by fire in 1912. So the building now on site (which we had thought to be the pub) is evidently newer).
Historical interest
Hubbard was called from his bed at 6.15am by 3 men that he then served with beer. The 3 were later arrested for the theft of 11 pheasants from the larder of Brettenham Hall.Ipswich Journal,February 13th 1883* (when George Hubbard was landlord)
