High St
grid reference TL 931 704
The village website tells us that this pub "stood in the High Street on the land now occupied by the Village Shop and 13a/b High Street". It closed late in 1916 as part of a scheme to rebuild the Greyhound.
Apparently the White Horse had something of a "ripe" reputation and was notorious for "the ladies who plied their trade there".
