The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Star's license was issued in 1886. This was probably when it got a full (ie, not just beer) license.
David Ransby, innkeeper (pub not named), pleaded guilty to being drunk and riotous at Bawdsey on 22 Dec 1869, and was fined £1 and 12s 6d costs. Ipswich Journal, Jan 1870**
