Important Covid information

If all goes according to plan, the first tranche of pubs (those that are able to serve drinkers outdoors) may be able to reopen on April 12th. Though of course, in a situation like this, nothing is guaranteed. The rest of our pubs may be permitted to reopen from May 17th.

Pubs providing takeaways continue to be listed on this page.

Those known to be planning to reopen as soon as permitted are listed on this page.

Haverhill Vixen

Haverhill Vixen

also traded as Scarlet Pimpernel

closed January 2011

last owner/operator: Admiral Inns

Millfield Way, CB9 0JB

grid reference TL 675 457

This was a family run pub with strong child friendly emphasis including a children's play area and junior pool table and Sky TV.

There was a planning application in December 2012 to convert the premises into an undertaker's, though it was boarded up and vandalised when visited in May 2014, and still in the same state in June 2016. The conversion to an undertakers was rejected by planning authorities; early in 2017 another application was lodged, this time for two shops and some housing.
