The Crown was demolished to make way for a car showroom soon after its closure.
Historically, this pub has also been in both Whitton and Bramford (due to several boundary changes), but current boundaries put its former location firmly within Ipswich.

The Whitton Flower Show: the annual exhibition of Auriculas was held at the Crown Inn at Whitton on Wed last. First prize was adjudged to be "Popplewells's Conquerer" entered by Mr S Balderston. Suffolk Chronicle, 10 May 1817
