The pub was found closed and boarded up in July 2008, presumably for some time. Though it had still been open when visited in April the previous year. It seems to have remained empty for a long while; planning permission to convert it to residential use was only lodged in December 2012.
It has now been converted to housing; sadly none of the house names reflects the building's history, so there's no clue left that there was ever a pub here. Although the building has been somewhat remodelled, it's still recognisable.
Recorded in 1936 as The Oak, according to A Survey of Suffolk Parish History.
