This was a small flint-faced pub, on the main road between Bury and Haverhill.
In the April/May 1982 edition of Last Orders*** it was reported that the Royal Oak was for sale by Charringtons and by the June/July 1982 edition it had been sold.
A planning application to change the pub to residential use was lodged in June 1996, so it evidently closed at about that date.
