The Star Inn is the quintessential 16th-century English pub with large log fires, oak beams, real ales and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Recently taken on by a new licensee in June 2025, the Star has 3 pumps. The food offering is basic, complemented by visiting mobile food vans, with Thai, Indian and seafood meals available.
Ales are served through ancient Lady Pumps; the Star is one of only two pubs in the country with these.
Online beer list available at Untappd.
Accommodation and an on-site brewery are also planned.
It was originally run as a Beer House in the 19th Century, when it acquired its name. Today it is a Grade II listed building in a conservation area, and boasts beautiful bressemer beams, carved oak beams in an old English style.
