A 15th Century commercial coaching inn, it was renamed the White Hart in 1780.
To be sold, the White Hart in Nayland, with convenient stables and outhouses thereto belonging; the whole in good repair, now in the occupation of William Stow.Ipswich Journal, 31 July 1779***
It's historically listed as a commercial inn & posting house.
On the 16th November 1810, will be opened at Nayland; a peal of six bells, having a new treble, rehung by John Naughton of Ipswich. The company of gentlemen ringers and others will be esteemed a favour, at the White Hart Inn, Nayland, where a good dinner will be provided at 2pm, by their humble servant, Jacob Stow.
