Just three miles north of Lavenham this pub is set in the middle of a quiet village, with the church across the way. Serving lunch and dinner as well as traditional roasts all day on Sundays, the food menu is characterised by the use of British seasonal produce, sourced from local farms and niche suppliers including nearby Clark & Sons Butchers. Everything from the bread to the pies is homemade. An extensive specialist wine list sits alongside a beer selection voted for by pub regulars. The spacious outdoor garden provides alfresco dining and drinking opportunities for long leisurely lunches in the sun. The extensive grounds can also accommodate a marquee seating up to 200 guests for private functions. Smaller events are also welcomed at this traditional 15th-century village pub. Quiz and Curry Night first Wednesday of the month.

At one time the building housed not only the pub, but two shops as well.
