The pub was called the Plough & Horses in 1844.
The 1904 Woodbridge licensing records show that the Plough's license was issued in 1853. Whether this was when it was first licensed or when it got a full (ie not just beer) license isn't clear, though the latter seems more probable.
This pub underwent major refurbishment through June & July 2010.
It suffered a fire overnight on June 11th/12th 2018.
