owner/operator: Fox & Hounds Social Club
REOPENED LATE OCTOBER 2025 AS A COMMUNITY BENEFIT SOCIETY DROPPING SOCIAL CLUB FROM ITS NAME. Previously, this was a members only club when, following a vote to disaffiliate from the Royal British Legion, the social club was re-named the Fox & Hounds Social Club in reference to the pub's original name in the 17th Century. There is a modern extension at the rear of the property that doubles as a function room, but the pub's character can be seen in the features of the original building.
The old Fox & Hounds has for many years been used as the British Legion club, though in 2017 it became independent of the Legion and was renamed the Fox & Hounds Social Club.
Planning permission for change of use to a club was granted in April 1980, so the pub probably closed about that time.
The building dates from the 18th century.
