Cask Ale is sold here.
53 The St, NR33 8JP
grid reference TM 512 897
owner/operator: Stonegate (formerly Ei Group)
This pub has been under new management since October 2022. The open-plan layout has a central bar with a TV screen showing live sport and a partially separate darts area where the front door used to be along with a wood-burner fire. A pool table is located to the side of the bar and this leads to a refurbished garden. The pub has many artworks created from scrap metal including a guitar and side table and there is a scrap metal bird house in the garden.
The pub must have been built in the first third of the 20th century, as it is not shown on maps from 1902, though it is on maps from 1938. It was pre-dated by a nearby beerhouse, and we're told that the license from that house transferred here.
