Important Covid information

If all goes according to plan, the first tranche of pubs (those that are able to serve drinkers outdoors) may be able to reopen on April 12th. Though of course, in a situation like this, nothing is guaranteed. The rest of our pubs may be permitted to reopen from May 17th.

Pubs providing takeaways continue to be listed on this page.

Those known to be planning to reopen as soon as permitted are listed on this page.

Wilby Butchers' Arms

Wilby Butchers' Arms

Closed between 1909 and 1913

Wootten Green

grid reference TM 234 728

We have examined all available Hoxne licensing records (1913-1968) without finding any reference to this pub. It's listed in the 1909 Rate book, but later annotated "late", so it seems likely to have closed some time between 1909 and 1913.

It's shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. interactive map
