It's shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. interactive map

We don't show a photo of the pub at the request of the current resident.
The Stag is shown as a beerhouse on OS maps at least as late as 1958; by the 1979 sheet it's marked as "Stag House" so must have closed between those dates. A planning application lodged in February 1975 refers to the "ex Stag public house", further narrowing down the closure date.
Message from Danny Downes: Please be aware that the landlord of the Stag Inn in 1921 was John Darnford Block. He was also the landlord of the Black Horse Inn, Whepstead in 1911.
Historical interest
In 1937 the pub was listed in Kelly's Directory as one of 220 pubs that were retailing beer that they were brewing.
