Glemsford Railway?
Glemsford Railway?
East, 52.08662,0.67213
Thought to have been a pub but there is a degree of doubt.
off Lower Rd
grid reference TL 831 465
This pub was located beside the former railway line that once followed the river just south of the A1092.
Presumably contemporaneous with the railway station but curiously although the building is shown on all OS maps of the era, it's never marked as a pub. The railway station closed in March 1967, which probably led to the demise of the pub.
Note: enquiries locally suggest that this building was in fact the stationmaster's house and may not actually have been a pub. Clearly we need to do more digging.
