Owner/operator: Greene King
Attractive thatched C16th pub. James Riley had a brewhouse here until he was bought out by Frederick King (later of Greene King fame) in 1879. Details of the sale are displayed on the wall of the lounge. In the public bar there is an interesting old notice about beer prices. Good value beer and food, including a selection of vegetarian dishes; children permitted if eating.
