Sudbury Christopher Hotel
Sudbury Christopher Hotel
North East, 52.03801,0.72849
Closed: 1989 ish
10 Gainsborough St
grid reference TL 872 412
The pub is shown on this OS town plan from 1881 (larger map).
In its later years, the Christopher was known as a bikers' pub. A planning application to convert the pub to business premises was lodged in June 1991, so the quoted 1989-ish closure date seems near enough.
It's now a drop-in centre.
The building dates from the 18th or 19th century.
