Historical interest
A report in the Ipswich Journal, June 3rd 1837***, stated that Robert Koipe COBBOLD of the Eye Brewery was retiring from business & was looking to sell various Inns & Public Houses including the Queen's Head, Botesdale.
Died on the 27th April 1840, at his brothers at the King's Head Inn, Botesdale, aged 46, Mr Robert Braddle, late waiter at the Angel, Bury.Ipswich Journal, May 1840**
Thomas Driver, pleaded guilty of stealing a bag of bean meal, pea meal and barley meal, of value 1s, from his master Mr Symonds. A bag containing a similar mix was found in the oven at the Queen’s Head Inn, Botesdale, the landlord, George Sutton, was charged with receiving the same knowing it to be stolen…
