Although the government has now allowed pubs to reopen, many are still unable to do so safely, while most if not all are only able to accommodate limited numbers of customers. Many of them are still reliant on providing takeaway food and/or drinks. Some offer deliveries, while others are selling from the premises. This page lists details of those we know about.

If you can give any of our pubs some support through these difficult times by buying some takeaway food or drink, please do so. Our pubs need as much support as possible if they're going to still be there for us when the crisis is over.

The Street

grid reference TM 543 974

No other details are known. The beerhouse also appears on the 1889 map but not on the 1905 or subsequent maps, so presumably closed between 1889 and 1905. It isn't listed in the 1910 Rates book, so had almost certainly closed by that year.

It's not 100% clear whether the beerhouse was the building north or south of Mill Lane, but the northern one (demolished by 1905) seems most likely.

The Jolly Sailor can be seen at this location on the 1882 OS map.
