Beccles Victoria Gardens
Beccles Victoria Gardens
East, 52.4438,1.56125
Closed: between 1840 and 1920
London Rd
grid reference TM 421 888 (approximate location)
There are two pubs named as the Victoria Gardens Beer House, London Road, in the 1861 census, with 3 properties between them. (The enumerator has appended (2) to the second one). Both have been included here because only one is listed in 1851 and the correct pub cannot be determined.
A Smith's paper "Inns of Beccles in 1929" (kindly supplied by Daryl Ling) tells us that "what is now Beaumont House was the Victoria Gardens, this has been closed within living memory". This building is now known as "Bethesda".
